DO YOU KNOW ABOUT OUR SOCIAL AND SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES?

We are committed to ensuring that Plástico Brasil positively impacts people and the planet. We aim to play a fundamental role in helping the entire industry community improve its sustainability by connecting people to the networks and knowledge they need to solve the significant challenges of the future.

Sustainability at Plástico Brasil

Plástico Brasil, the International Plastic Fair, recognizes the importance of sustainability in its initiatives. For us, sustainability represents a commitment to both the present and the future, highlighting our responsibility to promote an environmentally conscious, socially equitable, and economically viable world.

In the plastics sector, we face significant challenges regarding sustainability, including raw materials, recycling, carbon emissions, energy efficiency, waste generation, and the inclusion of professionals and technologies in the sector. However, we see these challenges as opportunities to innovate, seek efficient solutions, and promote more sustainable practices.

Plástico Brasil aims to be a platform to discuss and tackle these challenges, inspiring participants to adopt sustainable practices. By joining forces during events, we seek to strengthen a transformative movement in the industry, collectively building a sustainable future. We want the commitment of each participant not only as a response to current challenges but as a collective construction of a sustainable future.

As part of our commitment, we focus on three sustainability pillars.

For the industry, the training of professionals and the continuous development of skills for innovation are significant challenges. To contribute to developing technical skills and capacities among young people and adults, Plástico Brasil offers free content and other knowledge-sharing opportunities.
Ideas Park (Parque de Ideias): the main lecture stage primarily conducted by researchers and educational institutions. In addition to the free presentations during the five days of the event, the Ideas Park also features exhibition stands for partner institutions.
ABPol - Brazilian Polymer Association: a partnership promoting content and topics related to environmental and sustainability aspects linked to resins and raw materials for plastic production.
Encouraging diversification, technological modernization, and innovation in the sector while supporting productive activities, the creation of decent jobs, and growing small and medium-sized industries, Plástico Brasil promotes its content offerings at Ideas Park and other attractions focused on professional development and economic growth.
ABINFER BUSINESS CENTER: a space for showcasing companies in the tooling sector, with subsidized spaces and a unique auditorium, focused on sustainability topics for the industry.
SMED: a live workshop featuring rapid mold changes with a 100% automated process, completed in up to 5 minutes, optimizing a crucial part of the plastic manufacturing process.
To ensure our content is accessible and inclusive, the Ideas Park will feature a Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) interpreter for all presentations.
Plástico Brasil is an initiative of ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery Builders' Association) and ABIPLAST (Brazilian Plastics Industry Association), with institutional support from various national and international associations, institutions, and labor unions.
During the event, besides Ideas Park, other attractions are designed to focus on industrial innovation and significant management challenges.
Free shuttles: during the five days of the event, we offer free rotating shuttles at three strategic points in São Paulo to facilitate access to the event using public transportation.
Besides the content programming during the event and on digital channels, ensuring that everyone has access to information, Plástico Brasil guides all its actions and those of exhibitors around responsible consumption, including efficient use of energy and natural resources, waste reduction, and encouraging reuse and recycling, as well as responsible sourcing in the supply chain.

Better Stands is a program by Informa Markets, the organizer of Plástico Brasil, aimed at achieving zero waste from stands by 2030. The initiative encourages exhibiting companies to abandon the use of disposable (single-use) stands and prioritize the use of reusable structures.

By making their stand designs sustainable, builders and exhibitors will be recognized with Gold, Silver, and Bronze seals on their stands during Plástico Brasil.

Designed for 2030, this final level incorporates all elements of the Bronze and Silver levels, adding graphics, decorative items, and flooring to ensure zero waste generation.

Scheduled to be achieved by 2027, this level, in addition to including all elements of the Bronze level, requires that all structural objects, front and overhead signage, ceiling, and display stands be reusable.

This level involves the construction of stands where components, including walls, floors, furniture, equipment, and lighting, are 100% reusable, to be achieved at all Informa Markets events by next year.

Participation in the Better Stands program benefits the entire events market. The most important benefit is that adopting reusable structures will drastically reduce waste generation and, consequently, the environmental impact of events.
